After getting PEBBLE, STONE, BOULDER, and then the spangram in quick succession, I was sure I’d be looking for more rocks, but I quickly hit an, erm, rock.
Instead, Strands did a clever board split and the second half of my search was a very clever search for rolls, of which JELLY was the first I found.
Despite this clever trick, it was still an easy game and only the long spangram provided a challenge to choose from.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new word game, after Wordle and Connections. It is now a full member of the NYT Games group that has been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
