Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

When the topic completely goes over your head, Strands can be very difficult/impossible.
I’ve never felt closer to giving up than in this game, but luckily it was easy to spot dozens of non-game words, most of which you could add the letters ER to get another non-game word.
Even with all these clues, I still had problems, especially with the spangram.
Some post-game Google searching revealed that the spangram is the title of a Disney television show and the message “Never again!” The theme is a riff on Alan Edgar Poe’s poem. the crowbut if I’m honest, I’m still baffled. I completed it though.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new word game, after Wordle and Connections. It is now a full member of the NYT Games group that has been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
