OG Maco passed away at the age of 32.
The rapper, who was admitted to the hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound, supposedly in a suicide attempt, after days in a coma, has now died in Los Angeles.
Maco, who also performed under the stage names Maco Mattox and Maco Curry, could not be saved by doctors as his condition had recently begun to deteriorate.
Members of his family took to his official Instagram account to announce the tragic news of his passing, writing: “As we mourn this immense loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life he lived, one that will continue to inspire and uplift others.”
The note continued: “Maco’s influence, both as an artist and as a person, will be forever engraved in our hearts.”
“To all Maco’s fans, friends and followers: thank you for supporting him throughout his journey. “Today we celebrate a life that was extraordinary in each of us,” the publication said, signing with the words “love and gratitude.”
