Riley Gaines and Simone Biles’s dispute took a new turn on Sunday when an old publication on the social networks of the Olympic gymnast came to light.

Biles, in a 2017 publication, seemed to be grateful that men do not compete in female gymnastics.

“Ahhhh, the good thing is that the boys do not compete against the girls or would take all the gold medals!” She wrote in October 2017.

The publication of Biles came days after the 2017 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship ended in Canada. Biles did not participate, but American women Morgan Hurd and Jade Carey measured. Hurd won gold in the individual in general. Xio Ruoteng of China won gold in the individual of men in general.

Gaines, who organizes the podcast “Gaines for Girls” in Outkick, fired his own reaction.

“Oop, don’t you hate it when you completely undermine your current meaningless argument?” Gaines wrote in X. “How has 2025 Simone reconciled with the fact that Simone 2017 was a” truly sick stalker “by his own standard?”

Simone Biles heads with Riley Gaines on the debate of Trans athletes, launches a personal attack: ‘Truly sick’

The orders and backward began on Friday when Biles, apparently out of nowhere, fired a position in X aimed at Gaines in the middle of the uproar over the domain of a transgender athlete in the softball of the Minnesota high school.

“@Riley_gaines_ you are really sick, this whole campaign because you lost a race,” Biles wrote. “Director directly. I should raise the trans community and maybe finding a way of doing sports inclusive or creating a new way where Trans feels safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category in all sports!

“But instead … you intimidate them … a sure thing is that nobody in sports is safe with you!”

Biles then added: “Bully someone their own size, which would ironically be a male @riley_gaines_”

The publication attracted a fierce reaction in recent days.
