Olivia Rodrigo on Saturday recently used his massive Instagram monitoring to express his support for protesters amid continuous repression against immigrants.
The singer shared her thoughts about the crisis and said “our right to freedom of expression and freedom to protest.”
Then he shared an image of a cartel of the ongoing protest with a crossed crown and the words (no) “in our United States, discarding” monarchical control “and demanding respect for democracy.
The photo of the crossed crown on the poster attracted parallel to recent events in the United Kingdom, where the Republic of the Anti-Marcasa group organized a protest outside the Buckingham Palace during the color troughing the color parade on June 14, 2025.
The event, which marked King Charles’ official birthday, saw the protesters sing “not my king” and make banners, criticizing the relevance of the royal family.
The protest coincided with the military pomp of the parade, which republic described a “superficial coverage for a corrupt institution.”
King Charles and Prince William, who participated in the ceremony with “unwanted” military ranks, faced a particular scrutiny of the protesters who advocated the abolition of the monarchy.
