A decision on the participation of NFL players in the Olympic Games in 2028 It could come in the coming months, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday.
Speaking in him Annual NFL Spring Meeting On Tuesday, Goodell said the interest in competing in the Summer Olympic Games has been a hot topic in the League, and adding a resolution on the subject could arrive soon.

“Well, I have heard directly from many players who want to participate and represent their country, be it the United States or a country from which they came,” he said. “I think it is something we will continue to discuss, not only the union, but also the clubs. I think both are things that we will probably resolve at some point in the next 60 days.”

Flag Football will debut as an Olympic sport in Los Angeles In 2028. The interest of the NFL players was almost immediate after being announced for the first time in 2023. Since then, interest in sports has been retired throughout the country, with a tournament of women and men who will be played in the Games.

“I think the Olympic Games [are] A critical moment for us in the development of the flag worldwide, “Goodell added Tuesday.
“Listen, the Olympic Games are the pinnacle of international sport, and so that we can participate in that, having flag teams of men and women who participate in the world, is a significant time for us.”

The 2028 games will include four other new sports: baseball/softball, cricket, lacrosse and squash.
