- OnePlus has revealed more details of the OnePlus 15, including using a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset
- That is the successor of the Snapdragon 8 elite flagship used in the Galaxy S25 series
- The OnePlus 15 also has an 165Hz update rate, but lacks Hasselblad brand
We hope that the OnePlus 15 will occur completely soon, but the company has already revealed many elements of it, as during the last Qualcomm event (through The Verge), announced that this phone will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.
This chipset is the new Qualcomm high -end model, and is the successor of Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series and many of the other best Android phones in 2025. Then, when using this, the OnePlus 15 should make these devices outweigh in terms of power.
We have detailed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in another article, but according to Qualcomm, this chipset should be even more powerful than the A19 Pro feeding the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and it could be particularly excellent for games and the extended duration of the battery.
Renew the speed and details of the camera
But OnePlus has also revealed other details about its next phone, including that it has an 165Hz update rate, which is much higher than the 120Hz of OnePlus 13 and most other flagship phones.
The redesigned camera block on the back of the phone was also shown, and it is a design that we do not love, so that is a less promising element of the phone.
And an element that we are not still sure to do is the lack of Hasselblad brand, and OnePlus says that it is using an internal detailmax engine, which apparently uses “advanced algorithms and powerful processors.” So, how much impact this will have and if it will be an update or a reduction remains to be seen.
However, we should find out soon, since more information about OnePlus 15 “will be revealed in the coming weeks.” Ah, and if you are wondering what happened to the OnePlus 14, the number 4 is considered bad luck in China, so it is presumably so that they jump directly at 15.
