The broadband network giant and the United Kingdom infrastructure, Openreach, has pledged to implement the broad -fiber broadband throughout the United Kingdom more quickly after recognizing that only 37% of customers are connected to the network.
The news coincides with an “unleashed investment increase in Group BT, Openreach’s owner.
According to the company, more than 18 million homes and companies throughout the country have benefited from a new infrastructure, including four million in the last year, but with an additional injection of BT, EEE is waiting

Openreach “now hopes to accelerate towards its objective of reaching 25 million premises in December 2026”, read in a press release, pointing out how the company’s construction rate is expected to increase by 20%.
The Network and Infrastructure company owned by BT says that it has seen record demand during the past year, connecting a customer with its full fiber network every 17 seconds.
“We are bringing connectivity that changes life to all corners of the country, and we are determined to go more and faster, so we are proud of the confidence shown in us through this investment,” said the Openreach CEO, Clive Selley.
This growth is expected to continue until the end of the decade. Openreach expects that 30 million properties connect to its full fiber network by 2030, adding another five million after its December 2026 target.
BT recently confirmed a £ 9.8 million contract to extend its full fiber network to 1,800 “difficult access sites” in Pembrokeshire, Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire.
The BT Group CEO, Allison Kirkby, added: “Our new network is helping to grow the economy, create jobs, delight customers and deliver value to our shareholders.”
