- Operai Figures claim chatgpt now has 500 million users worldwide
- Younger workers use it more, but the youngest are not the biggest users
- Operai wants to democratize artificial intelligence and support workers
Operai has published new investigations claiming that its AI tool technology provides important productivity benefits, while acknowledging that it could mainly interrupt some areas negatively.
This year, ChatGPT has been used by 28% of American adults for labor purposes, compared to 8% in 2023, suggesting that they are increasingly facing their productivity and efficiency benefits.
Among its most popular use cases are learning and acceleration (20%), writing and communication (18%), programming, data science and mathematics (7%), creative ideation, business analysis and even translation.
Chatgpt seeks to increase productivity
Interestingly, although we generally see the younger generations that adopt emerging technologies more quickly, Operai revealed that more than 25 to 34 years of use of chatgpt (32%) compared to young people of 18-24-24 (24%), which suggests that generative AI could be more beneficial for a little more high level positions than the roles of entry level.
Lawyers, customer service agents, consultants, government workers and teachers have reported considerable time savings when using AI.
Openai’s’ economic unlocking document also said that AI helps reduce the entrance barrier for business spirit and small businesses, with the 2025 and combinator cohort that grows by around 10% weekly due to the growing number of AI startups.
However, even Openai acknowledges that AI can bring interruptions despite its important productivity promises.
Stating that it now admits more than 2.5 billion messages per day of 500 million users worldwide, the company said it has the responsibility of guiding change, not stopping it, democratizing access, supporting workers and building inclusive systems.
“We have had a good start, creating free intelligence used by more than 500 million people worldwide, including 3 million developers,” the company wrote.
“Operai hopes to work with political leaders, workers, educators and the public to better understand how AI is changing the economy and ensure that the economic profits that provide AI causes generalized growth and an extended opportunity.”
