Islamabad:

The opposition alliance under the Tehreek-E-Thaffuz-E-Ayeen-E-Pakistan (TTAP) flag has announced that its highly anticipated protest movement will begin with a public concentration in Islamabad on April 20, preparing the scenario for a new political confrontation against the PML-N-N-Lide coalition.

According to TTAP spokesman, Akhunzada Yousafzai, the rally will be organized by Majlis Wahdat-E-Muslimeen (MWM) and will take place in the G-9 area of the capital.

The spokesman said that the prominent opposition figures, including TTAP and the head of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, as well as the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) senior, will address the meeting, saying that the invitations will also extend to other parts of the opposition to the performance of Celebration

The announcement has arrived a few weeks after the opposition matches concluded a multiple two -day conference, which served as a precursor to the protest unit.

The conference culminated with a statement that demanded the supremacy of the Constitution, the immediate liberation of political prisoners, the new elections and the cancellation of what it called “unconstitutional amendments” introduced by the current government.

Despite the growing impulse, the alliance continues to deal with internal challenges, the main one is the reluctance of Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) to formally join the movement. The Chief of Jui-F, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has so far held his support, citing concerns about the PTI’s decision-making structure in the absence of its imprisoned founder, Imran Khan.

While PTI’s leaders were hope that Jui-F could enter aboard after EID, a formal agreement has not yet been reached.

Experts say that most of the differences between PTI and Jui-F have been resolved, but the question of who will lead the alliance in the absence of Khan is still unresolved. According to reports, Fazl insists that any PTI representative who leads the movement must be granted with full authority, something that PTI has fought to guarantee due to limited access to Imran Khan.
