The long -awaited opposition (APC) conference (APC), scheduled for February 26 and 27, hit a problem even before it could begin, since the organizers alleged that the local administration of the twin cities threw a key in the Works by refusing to allow the event until the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 ended.
However, opposition parties remain unchanged, promising to advance at full speed with the conference, which will focus on defending the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law.
They said that the event will continue as planned on Wednesday and Thursday, with a new place that will be announced soon.
At a press conference called Tuesday night, the coordinator of the newly registered political party Awam Pakistan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, revealed that the officials of all the places previously reserved to celebrate the events have excused one after another.
The head of the party said that local administrations pressurize them to cancel the events.
However, opposition parties have now decided that the conference will still be held and that the final place will soon communicate. Abbasi was accompanied by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, president of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami party, the Sunni Ittehad Council Sunni Race Party and Sal-Man-Man Akram Raja, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf Secretary, among others.
The opposition sees the political and constitutional crises in progress as a serious threat to democracy. Its objective is to formulate a joint strategy to address these challenges, saying that the government and local administrations should not be afraid of a closed doors meeting that discuss the ongoing political, economic and constitutional challenges.
During the press conference, Achakzai continued to say that the opposition would not allow Parliament to function gently if the opposition movement was frustrated. Race also did not ask for words in saying that the conference would be held at all costs.

The agenda declared that the efforts to establish a prosperous and democratic state were repeatedly weakened by the frequent interference of non -democratic forces, and added that it was aggravated by conspiracies, a weak political system, corruption and confrontation within the institutions.
The National Conference, organized by Abbasi and Achakzai, was initially scheduled in the atrium, E-11, Islamabad, from 10 am to 6 pm, however, due to a last minute withdrawal by the Atrium management, the event now It will take place in a different place.
Through the agenda, opposition parties have transmitted that political stability is essential for economic progress and that any deviation of constitutional principles weakens democracy. They argued that the APC will serve as a platform to generate consensus on the necessary measures to protect the unconstitutional actions system.
The agenda establishes that the Constitution of Pakistan defines the framework of a sovereign and independent state. Since 1947, he says, the Constitution has outlined a complete state system, but the challenges in the height of these principles have persisted.
Emphasizing that Pakistan was going through a critical situation, he said that the country continues to face constitutional crises, political instability and economic challenges even after the general elections of February 2024, claiming that the public mandate was violated and democratic norms were undermined.
“The elections not only put an interrogation sign on the political process but in the democratic future of Pakistan,” he said.
In such circumstances, he says, maintaining constitutional supremacy and the rule of law is essential, and added that the need for national and narrative dialogue becomes even more critical to collectively direct the country towards stability and progress.
In this context, he continues, the conference is being organized to reflect on the country’s management and provide practical solutions to advance from here. The opposition says that participants will also discuss ways of safeguarding fundamental rights, promoting transparency in government and maintaining freedom of expression and press.
They say that the discussion will also highlight the need for a transparent and responsible government that can restore public confidence in institutions. The agenda urges the general public to present, play their role and put the country back on a democratic path.
In recent weeks, the opposition has intensified consultations with different parties and leaders to find viable solutions to the current crises of the country and begin a movement against the PML-N government.
Opposition leaders argue that they will not allow democratic values to be undermined under any circumstance. As political tensions intensify, the opposition APC raises a new challenge for the Government, further intensifying the already volatile political landscape.
During the PTI government, the opposition parties of that time had also joined to press the then government.
