Orange prepares to welcome tourists

Abbottabad:

Officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Balakot Tehsil administration announced on Sunday that the road to Naran has been reopened after five months of closing due to strong snowfall. Arrangements for tourists are expected to be completed in the next three days.

Naran, one of the most frequented tourist attractions in the country, closed in November last year, after strong snowfall in the area. Local authorities said the road had opened after cutting glaciers that blocked the Kaghan road. Orange is located in the Kaghan Superior Valley in the Mansehra district of the KP at an altitude of 2,409 meters. According to some estimates, around 1.5 million people visit Naran Valley every year.

Orange is also the entrance door to Gilgit Hunza in the summers through the Babusar pass. During winters, the temperature often remains below 0 ° C with strong snowfall. In the summers, the temperature rarely exceeds 15 ° C with heavy rains. The tourist destination is still very busy in the summers, when snow -covered roads are opened. The public movement continues to autumn. In the winter, the Nevada blocks the roads.

“The Kaghan highway has been reopened by traffic until Orange after a closure of five months,” Mansehra district police officer said on Sunday. “The NHA has restored the road for traffic by cutting large glaciers on the Kaghan road.”

The Balakot Tehsil administration instructed tourists to go to Naran, when the weather cleared and the facilities were complete. The DPO said that the arrangements for tourists in Naran would be completed in the next three days.

The NHA officials said the work was in progress to open the Kaghan road to the top of Babusar, the entrance point to the GB region, located about 65 kilometers from Naran.
