- The fixed audio player M21 Hi-RES costs £ 279 / $ 329 (around AU $ 583)
- Quad-Dac configuration and two-stage amplification
- Desktop mode for optimized output for high fidelity systems
It is guaranteed that the arrival of a new affordable Audio player of Fixable will call our attention: when we review the JM21 portable music player, we were surprised by its sound and value for money. And now there is a new player who is more powerful without being much more expensive.
Where the JM21 is a double DAC device, the new m21 fixture is a quad-dac player. And double DACS does not mean twice the price: where the JM21 launched at $ 199 / £ 179, the M21 is $ 329 / £ 279.
Fixed M21 Portable audio player: Specifications and key features
The M21 is an elegant -looking thing with a large 4.7 -inch IPS touch screen on the front, a glass back and a Snapdragon 680 eight nuclei inside it. The device runs Android 13 and comes with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage with 52 GB of what is available for use, and can add up to 2TB through microSD. Bluetooth is 5.0 (SBC, AAC, APTX, APTX HD, LDAC and LHDC).
The DAC are four logic cs4319s arranged to minimize diaphonia and noise. The two -stage amplification provides the first and the current second voltage, which says Fixo creates a clean and dynamic sonic profile.
A new key feature is M21, the first for fixed entry level androids. It allows you to connect to a USB-C supply and omit the battery, delivering a maximum voltage of up to 21 VPP and 950mw per channel in 32 ohms. The desktop mode also allows you to use the M21 as a high resolution transmitter for a broader high loyalty system.
The battery life in portable mode is 15 hours during 3.5 mm and 11.5 hours with the balanced output of 4.4 mm. And there is an optional retro box that looks like a cassette tape: it is the largest metal color box in which the M21 is located in the main photo at the top.
There is no doubt that this is going to sound fantastic, and I suspect that it will probably deal with volumes higher than the JM21, which becomes a bit shout when it increases too high things. And at £ 279 / $ 329, the M21 still undermines many high -resolution rival audio devices, among no less than m23’s own m23, another player we love.
Between that and the false cassette, and I think it creates a winning formula here. The player is now available.
