In the midst of the growing controversy over his AI that mimics Studio Ghibli’s artistic style, Openai is forced to limit how many images Chatgpt can produce at the free level to 3 a day because he is demonstrating to be too popular.
In a recent tweet about X, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAi, said: “It is very fun to see people love the images in Chatgpt, but our GPU are melting. We will temporarily introduce some fees limits while we work to make it more efficient. Hopefully it is not long! Chatgpt Free Tier will get 3 generations per day soon.”

The new chatgpt image generation capabilities are clearly a step forward in the development of the generation of Ia images, which shows that it is superior in our tests to Dall-E 3, which is the model previously used by Chatgpt, and also what is not yet exhausted once it has run out of generations in the new model.
In his X-Thread, Sam Altman also continues to say that “(also, we are rejecting some generations that should afford; we are fixing these so fast that we can).”

Chatgpt rollout delays
It is very possible that you do not have access to the chatgpt image creation tools still anyway. While Chatgpt Plus users seem to have access, not all free level users do.
On March 26, Altman tweeted that the deployment to the free level would be delayed: “The images in ChatgPT are much more popular than we expected (and we had quite high expectations). Unfortunately, the launch at our free level will be delayed for a while.”
As we have said in our tests, even at the more level, Chatgpt is already very slow when it comes to generating images, and when the deployment of the free level is complete, we would expect it to be even more slow. The movement to limit the free level to 3 images temporarily, although understandable, will inevitably lead to people feeling frustrated with the company.
