Overall water organization launched to address the crisis

RIAD:

The recently established Global Water Organization (GWO) has officially begun the operations of its headquarters in Riyadh, after the signing of its founding letter for eight nations, including Pakistan during an inaugural meeting in the Saudi capital.

According to a declaration of the Water and Energy Development Authority (WAPDA) on Sunday, the launch event “marked an important milestone in promoting international collaboration to address global water challenges.”

Federal Wattoo Wattoo Minister of Federal Water Resources represented Pakistan by invitation of the Minister of Environment of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Rahman Bin Abdul Mohsen al-Fadley, to share the country’s perspective.

“Pakistan together with other founding members signed the GWO letter, formally committing to the shared vision of the organization to strengthen international cooperation in water scarcity, sustainable resources management and climate resilience, particularly in arid regions and stressed by water,” he said. According to the Saudi press agency, the organization brings together founding members of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Spain, Greece, Senegal, Pakistan and Mauritania, united by a compromise shared with the sustainable management of aquatic resources.
