Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif categorically said that Pakistan does not recognize the Israeli State or maintain diplomatic ties with him.
The prime minister held a telephone conversation with Jamaat-E-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, during which the two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, with a particular approach to the urgent need of a high fire in Palestine, according to a press release from the prime minister’s office.
The prime minister also highlighted the active role of the government to guarantee the safe return of the Pakistani citizens detained by Israel after their participation in the Global Sumud flotilla, including former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan.
The prime minister reported that Islamabad remained in close contact with friendly nations and international organizations to ensure early liberation and repatriation of its citizens.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of stopping the spill of blood in the process of the Palestinians, reaffirming that Pakistan’s position on the Palestinian cause has always been “clear and unequivocal.”
He stressed that Pakistan has constantly elevated his voice to the Palestinian people oppressed in each global forum and will continue to do so.
Reiterating the long-standing position of Pakistan, Sharif said that the country firmly supports the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders prior to 1967 with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
He expressed the hope that the collective efforts of eight Islamic countries that work for a high fire would soon bear fruit, racing the path for peace and realization of the dream of a Palestinian state.
Shehbaz expressed the confidence that the Pakistani detained would soon be brought home safely.
During the conversation, both leaders also reviewed the situation in Jammu and Cashmiro illegally occupied (Iiojk).
The prime minister reiterated that the federal government is committed to playing its complete role in promoting peace and supporting the fight of the People of Cookmira for their legitimate rights.
