
Pakistani horror hit Consent He has won international recognition, winning the best edition at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival (SCO) 2025 held in Chongqing, China.
The horror thriller was one of the two Pakistani films honest in the event, along with Nayabshowing the growing global impact of Pakistani cinema.
Directed by Rafay Rashdi and starring Sonya Hussyn, Samina Peerzada and Fayal Quraishi, Consent He has stood out for his exciting narrative and technical delicacy.
After the announcement of the award, Rashdi expressed his gratitude on Instagram, calling him a “historical victory for Pakistani cinema in an international scenario.”
He thanked the SCO, to the Ministry of Information and those who supported the vision of the film. “Pakistan Zindabad,” he added, sharing a photo with the prize and main actor Sonya Hussyn.
Hussyn, who attended the festival, also celebrated the honor on social networks, wrote: “Our Demak movie brings home to a prize at the prestigious film festival,” and called him a proud moment for Pakistan.
Produced and presented by PakGazette Films, Consent He was released throughout the country in Eidul Adha and quickly became a box office phenomenon.
