Pakistan adopts a new response to India

Islamabad:

Pakistan has established a “new normality” of “a response from Quid-Pro-Quo-Plus” if India insists on its dangerous notion of a limited war under the nuclear threshold, the vice-first minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, declared Monday, urging New Delhi to rethink their Hubrist and erroneous policies.

Speaking in an event to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) here, it emphasized that Pakistan as an “average power” and a key member of the “Global South South”, was contributing to the causes of global peace, security and sustainable development.

The Vice Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s foreign policy approach was aimed at accentuating the country’s twin to geoeconomy and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to defend international peace and security.

“One of the central principles that guides this foreign policy approach is to accentuate Pakistan’s twin to geoeconomy,” Dar said. “The other central principle is our permanent commitment to international law, the Charter of the United Nations and unworthy multilateralism,” he added.

He emphasized the need to promote economic diplomacy as a key pillar of the country’s global commitment. He stressed that improving trade, promotion of foreign investment, attract remittances and technology, and forge development associations were among the highest priorities.

“In this way, foreign policy became the most important instrument to protect and promote the economic interests of Pakistan and to substantially contribute to the national development process,” said the viceprimer minister to the event.

On the recent turbulence and global transformation, GIV said that Pakistan, as much as an average power as a key member of the global south, contributed significantly to “the causes worthy of peace and security”, as well as sustainable development.

Referring to the accusations of India after Pahalgam’s attack and the “new normal” doctrine of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the use of the army against Pakistan, Dar said that Pakistan quickly took the Indian climb with an “Quid-Cuo-Plus” response in May.
