Pakistan becomes the third nation of southern Asia with the Port Authority of the Earth


President Asif Ali Zardari gave his consent on Saturday to the bill of Pakistan land authority, 2025, turning it into law and raising the way for the establishment of a new legal body responsible for managing border crossings and facilitating cross -border movement.

The newly created Port of land authority of Pakistan will act as a central platform to coordinate between multiple border management agencies.

Its mandate includes facilitating the soft movement of goods and passengers through land ports, reducing delays and guaranteeing more efficient commercial flows.

Authorities said authority would serve as an institutional mechanism to rationalize cooperation between agencies and strengthen Pakistan connectivity with its neighbors. The body is also expected to improve compliance with international commercial agreements and conventions.

With its formation, Pakistan has become the third country in southern Asia, after India and Bangladesh, to establish a Port of Dedicated Land. Government officials described the step as part of the broadest efforts to improve regional commercial integration and relieve bottlenecks in border management.

According to the presidency, the authority will introduce a “robust coordination mechanism” with border agencies and play a role in improving the competitiveness of regional ports. Pakistan’s ability to comply with international obligations in cross -border security is also expected to drive.

The observers pointed out that the measure could help Pakistan strengthen economic ties with neighboring countries, particularly as regional connectivity projects expand. However, they added that the effectiveness of the new body will depend on how well coordinates with existing institutions, such as customs and immigration.
