Islamabad: The nation is celebrating today eid ul adha with traditional religious fervor, solemn devotion and a renewed spirit of unity, this time, in the shadow of recent tensions in the region.
As the first EID since the recent confrontation between the residents of Pakistan and India nuclear weapons, the occasion resonates with a stronger message of solidarity, peace and compassion.
The day began with special eid sentences in the mosques, Eidgahsand open spaces throughout the country. The faithful offered collective pleas for the well -being of the Muslim Ummah and for peace, progress and prosperity in Pakistan and the broader region.
In their sermons, religious scholars reflected the lasting legacy of the prophet Ibrahim (as) and the Prophet Ismail (AS), emphasizing the need for patience, unity and spiritual resilience against adversity.
Qurbani’s ritual is also being observed throughout the country, with families and communities that sacrifice animals in memory of unwavering obedience shown by the prophet Ibrahim (AS).
It is recommended to those who offer sacrifice that distribute the meat generously among the poor, which reinforces the message that EID is a moment of inclusion, charity and shared blessings.
In this sense, federal and provincial authorities have enforced strict security agreements, especially in the main urban centers and locations that organize large congregations. Local administrations have also secured waste management operations without problems for the three days of EID, reinforcing both civic responsibility and community spirit.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in a comprehensive EID message, congratulated the nation and the Islamic world on the sacred occasion, saying: “Eid Ul Adha’s message goes beyond the sacrifice of animals. It teaches us to give up personal interests for higher national objectives.”
He stressed that the history of the prophet Ibrahim (as) and the prophet Ismail (as) teaches sacrifice, obedience and devotion as cornerstones of a strong and united society.
He pointed out: “The spirit of Eid Ul adha instills values of patience, courage and altruism that can serve as a basis for national development.” Reflecting on recent tensions with India, he said: “Just as the nation was united against aggression, we must now remain resolved to overcome our internal challenges.”
The prime minister also caught attention to the oppressed peoples of Palestine and India, illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “We must remember our Palestinian brothers and sisters who continue to face immense difficulties. Pakistan is firmly with them in their fair struggles,” he said. He asked for national unity, civic responsibility and the prioritization of collective interest on personal benefit to make the dream of a strong and self -sufficient Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari also extended warm greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah. In his message, he stressed that Eid Ul adha revives the timeless values of faith, sacrifice and brotherhood exemplified by the prophet Ibrahim (as) and the prophet Ismail (AS).
“This day reminds us that no sacrifice is too great on the road to Allah,” he said.
He stressed that EID teachings should be integrated into daily life, not only through the ritual, but through action. “It is imperative to support the disadvantaged, care for the sick and build a society based on compassion,” he said. He also urged citizens to get rid of hate hearts and prejudices, and work sincerely for Pakistan’s prosperity. “
President Zardari emphasized the need for a collective effort to address economic challenges and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the welfare of the Muslim Ummah. “Together, we can shape a Pakistan defined by unity, mutual respect and shared progress,” he added.
Separately, the field marshal and the head of the Army personnel, Syed also Munir, president of the Joint Personnel Heads Committee, the head of the Naval Personnel and the Chief of the General Staff of the Air, also extended the warm greetings of Eid Ul Adha to the people of Pakistan in a joint message.
The main military leaders offered their sincere prayers for lasting peace, the national unity and the prosperity of the nation, said public relations between services (ISPR).
They tribute to the resilience of the Pakistani people and recognized the courage and sacrifices of the Armed Forces, the agencies of application of the law and the citizens that continue to protect the country.
“Eid Ul Adha is a sacred moment for reflection, sacrifice and unity,” said the ISPR statement.
“That this blessed occasion fosters harmony in our society and reinforces the spirit of solidarity that unites us as an indomitable nation.”
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to support people and defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with the resolution.
The message said: “Pakistan’s armed forces are resolutely with the people, together with purpose and firm in their sacred duty to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.”
“On this day of reverence, we also honor the noble families of Shuhada-E-Pakistan, whose loved ones made the last sacrifice at the service of peace and the nation,” he added.
The message concluded with a patriotic statement: “Pakistan Hameesha Zindabad” – Long Live Pakistan.
The special EID programs will be issued in state and private media, while newspapers will publish dedicated eid supplements that reflect on the spiritual and social importance of the occasion in the current geopolitical climate.
