Pakistan condemned the “unjustified and illegitimate aggression of Israel against Iran on Thursday, urging the United Nations to take immediate measures to defend international law and hold Israel responsible.
“Israeli military attacks violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran and clearly contravene the UN Charter and the fundamental principles of international law. Iran has the right to self -defense under article 51 of the UN Charter,” said the spokesman for the foreign office Shafqat Ali Khan during a weekly presentation on Thursday.
He also said that Pakistan was in “solidarity resolved” with the people of Iran and denounced Israeli actions as shameless provocations that represent a serious threat to regional and global security and stability.
The spokesman also confirmed that the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, held telephone conversations with his counterparts from Iran, Turkiye, Egypt, Eau and the United Kingdom.
The FO spokesman said that the discussions focused on the deterioration of the regional situation with the leaders who express concern about climbing.
They agreed to work together to maintain peace and stability and emphasized the need to reduce tensions, he added.
In addition, he stressed that 21 Muslim countries have jointly rejected Israel’s aggression against Iran, qualifying actions a violation of international laws and the UN letter.
The FO spokesman reiterated the long -standing call of Pakistan for the urgent establishment of the Middle East as a nuclear weapons free zone and main destruction.
The fight between Iran and Israel entered their seventh consecutive day on Thursday with new missile attacks reported in the south and center of Israel, including direct success in a hospital in Beersheba.
Israeli officials said Iran launched “dozen” of missiles, some of which hit areas near Tel Aviv, as well as the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. The hospital was very damaged, with pieces wrapped in flames.
Shlomi Codish, hospital director, reported that 40 people had been injured in the strike. “Several rooms were completely demolished, and there are extensive damage throughout the hospital,” he said.
In response, Iranian officials affirmed that the goal of missile flood was a nearby military and intelligence center, not the hospital.
