Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to deepen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in several sectors, amid the growing regional and global challenges.
The reaffirmation occurred during a meeting between the Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong in Beijing, where both parties discussed matters of mutual interest, with a particular approach in the second phase of the Chinese-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Iqbal praised Beijing’s constant support to Pakistan, especially during recent tensions with India, and praised China’s leadership for his role in promoting global peace. He also described the friendship of Pakistan-China as strengthening “with every day that passes” and described China’s development model as an inspiration for Pakistan.
