Pakistan, China to advance in the next phase of CPEC with five runners


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed their commitment to the Chinese-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), agreeing to advance in their next phase through five new runners designed to expand cooperation in key economic sectors.

In their meeting in the Great town Hall in Beijing, the two leaders emphasized that the Pakistan-China Association was unique and incomparable and agreed that this link should be reflected through improved cooperation in multiple fields.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed the desire to continue working closely with China for the successful implementation of the next improved CPEC phase, qualifying the project as a flagship of the Belt and Road initiative of President XI (BRI).

Shehbaz appreciated China’s unwavering support for territorial integrity, the socio-economic development of Pakistan and said that CPEC would help both nations build a community of Pakistan-China even stronger with a shared future.

President XI assured the Prime Minister that China would continue to help Pakistan in all fields of economic growth and development, particularly as the second phase of CPEC is launched.

In early August, both countries reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the high quality development of the Chinese-Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC) improved during the sixth strategic dialogue between the Vice Minister Vice Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Chinese Wang Yi.

The two parties reviewed the complete spectrum of Pakistan-China relations, discussed key regional and global issues and exchanged views on various areas of cooperation, including CPEC 2.0, commercial and economic ties, multilateral participation and exchanges of people to people.

In a joint press commitment, DAR highlighted the complete unanimity between the two countries in the main bilateral, regional and global issues, and added that they were encouraged by Wang Yi’s vision to advance cooperation, particularly in the improvement of CPEC to its next phase.

Today, the two leaders also reviewed broader bilateral relations and regional developments, agreeing to maintain close coordination in global and regional issues.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the visionary and transformative leadership of President XI who has inspired China’s trip to modernization and progress, adding that “Pakistan was proud of China’s achievements and would always be ready to work along with China on this great trip.

Shehbaz congratulated President XI for the success of the SCO Council of the Heads of the State Summit in Tianjin and the 80th anniversary of the world’s anti -fascist war.

The prime minister also expressed Pakistan’s support for the global initiatives of President XI, including the Global Governance Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and Global Civilization Initiative, calling regional and global peace and development contributions and development. Shehbaz said.

Shehbaz invited President XI to make an official visit to Pakistan next year, when the two countries will celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The prime minister is in Beijing after attending the 25th meeting of the State Council of the OCS in Tianjin.

During his stay, he will also participate in the World War anniversary celebrations against fascism and will go to the company Conference to Company from China-Pakistan.
