Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s continuous aggression and atrocities in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, stating that the latest military actions equals war crimes under international law.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, Islamabad criticized the “indiscriminate violence” of Israel that, he said, had killed thousands of Palestinians, including women, children, medical staff and humanitarian workers.
The statement also denounced Israel’s recent military impulse to confiscate new areas, including the illegal acquisition of the Morag corridor.
He said that the deliberate targeting of a clinic without running in Jabalia, where more than 700 displaced civilians had sought refuge, was a flagrant violation of the International Humanitarian Law.
The Pakistani government expressed serious concern about the assault of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex by Israeli forces during Eid-ul-Fitr, qualifying it from a sacrilegious act and a deliberate provocation.
“These actions, together with Israel’s clear intention to ethnically clean the Palestinians of their homeland, constitute war crimes,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement also criticized the destruction of civil infrastructure and the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of people, calling such actions “morally representable and legally indefensible.”
Pakistan reaffirmed his support for Palestinian law to self-determination and reiterated his call to an independent and contiguous Palestinian state based on borders prior to 1967, with Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.
Islamabad urged the international community to act decisively to avoid a greater loss of life and safeguard religious sites.
