Pakistan has strongly condemned the “unjustified and illegitimate aggression” by Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement delivered during an informative session of the UN Security Council on Regional Security.
The ambassador equal Iphtikhar Ahmad, the permanent representative of Pakistan before the United Nations, said on Saturday that Israel’s military attacked over the Iranian territory violated international law and represented a serious threat to peace and stability in the region.
“Pakistan is in solidarity resolved with the fraternal people of Iran,” he said. “We offer our sympathies and condolences about the loss of lives and the damage caused by these heinous attacks.”
Calling strikes a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran, Ambassador Ahmad said he contravened both the UN letter and the fundamental principles of international law.
“We unequivocally denounce these shameless provocations, which constitute a serious danger and a serious threat to the peace, security and stability of the entire region and beyond,” he said.
He also underlined Iran’s inherent right to self -defense under article 51 of the UN Charter.

At least three people died and 91 were injured in Iran’s retaliation missile attacks on Israel on Friday night, Anadolu agency reported.
The attack attacks followed the Israeli attack against Iran that attacked military and nuclear sites in Iran, killing the main Iranian generals and nuclear scientists. Iran’s revolutionary guard confirmed that he had launched ballistic missiles in multiple objectives within Israel, even in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Iranian officials said that 78 people, including the main nuclear generals and scientists, were killed and more than 320 injured in Israeli strikes that began before dawn and attacked Tehran, Natanz, Isfahan and Shiraz.
The body of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) confirmed the death of Mayor Mohammad Baqeri and General Hossein Salami, among others.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel had hit “the heart of the Iran nuclear program,” confirming attacks on more than 200 objectives. The International Atomic Energy Agency said Iran reported significant damage to a structure on its Uranium enrichment plant in Natanz.
Iran responded with two waves of attacks with missiles and drones, hitting areas inside and around Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israeli officials said that most missiles were intercepted, but there was a “limited number” of direct blows that caused structural damage.
The US army helped intercept Iranian missiles, but declared that it was not involved in Israel’s offensive. Iran’s UN envoy accused Washington of complicity and warned of consequences.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed the new commanders and promised compensation. “The Zionist regime has sealed its bitter destiny,” he said in a statement.
