Pakistan directs the sentence of the Israeli strike against Qatar in the ACNUR

The Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) sentenced Israeli military aggression against Qatar on September 9. The OIC said: Israel violated international law and the UN letter, and constituted a dangerous escalation, threatening human rights in the region.

“This unjustifiable and unbashed attack constitutes a dangerous escalation, threatening human rights and an attack on sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar, under the pretext of counteracting terrorism,” the declaration added.

The OIC expressed solidarity with Qatar and supported “all the steps they can take to protect their safety and sovereignty according to the UN letter.”

The Pakistan ambassador, Bilal Ahmad, whose country was among those who directed the call to urgent debate, warned that “this unjustifiable and unpaved attack constitutes a dangerous escalation.”

Speaking on behalf of the ICO during an urgent debate in the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday, Ahmad said the group welcomed the session and thanked the Minister of State for Qatar for the international cooperation Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser al Nounta for his speech.

“The OIC condemns the Israeli aggression against Qatar on September 9, 2025 in flagrant violation of international law and the UN letter,” he added.

He said the attack undermined the mediation process that Qatar has organized with regional and international partners to address the humanitarian crisis in the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly Gaza.

He asked the international community to “force Israel to stop their dangerous and continuous attacks in the region” and urged the UN Human Rights Council to guarantee the responsibility of what he described as the “serial violations of Israel International Law.”

The statement added that Qatar mediation initiatives and other countries offered a basis for “a fair and lasting regional peace with equal rights and dignity for all peoples of the region, especially people under occupation in Palestine.”

Meanwhile, the United Nations and a long line of countries also denounced Israel’s attack to Qatar last week, denouncing a “dangerous climb” and demanding “responsibility.”

That strike “was a shocking violation of international law,” said UN Head of Rights, Volker Turk, during an urgent debate in the UN Human Rights Council on the strike.

Denouncing the attack as “an assault on regional peace and stability,” urged “responsibility for illegal murders.” Qatar and dozens of representatives of the country echoed their words that took the floor during the three -hour debate.

Qatar International Cooperation Minister Maryam Bint Ali Bin Nasser al-Misnad criticized Israel’s “treacherous attack” and demanded that the international community “take practical measures to hold the aggressors and avoid their impunity.”

“This attack was not an isolated incident, but it was part of a broader campaign aimed at distorting Qatar’s role and obstructing its diplomatic efforts,” he said.

The Council announced on Monday that it would convene the tenth urgent debate since its creation in 2006, after two official requests of the members of the IIC and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Neither Israel nor his main ally of the United States, which disconnected from the Council earlier this year, were present for the urgent debate.

But Israel’s ambassador to Geneva Daniel Meron criticized the meeting from the cost. “This marks another shameful chapter in the continuous abuse of the Human Rights Council,” he told reporters.

He accused the advice of “serving as a platform for anti-Israel propaganda, while ignoring the brutal realities in the field and atrocities committed by Hamas”. There was little support for Israel’s position during the debate.

The European Union ambassador, Deike Potzel, emphasized the “position of the principles of the block against terrorism in all its forms”, while underlineing its “support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar” and asking “Israel to respect international law.” “We urge all parties to refrain from any action that endangers mediation channels and regional stability,” he said.

China’s ambassador Chen Xu said his country “firmly rejects and categorically condemns” the attack of September 9, which he accused was “a deliberate attempt to derail the negotiation process.” Some of the hardest criticisms came from South Africa, which has presented a case against Israel before the International Court of Justice, accusing him of committing genocide in Gaza.

The attack “smells against the heart of the mediation processes,” said Ambassador Mxolisi Nkosi to the Council, added that “it shows that Israel does not want to end his genocidal war against the Palestinian people.” “It is time for the international community to demonstrate through countermeasures practices that Israel does not enjoy some form of special immunity for responsibility.”
