Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed a serious concern for Iran’s missile attacks against an American military base in Qatar and urged that all efforts should be made to reduce tensions and restore peace in the region.

During a telephone conversation with Qatar ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Kater, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed solidarity with the government and the people of Qatar at this difficult time.

The Qatar ambassador thanked Prime Minister for communicating immediately after this more unfortunate development.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz also had a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Bin Saeed al Malkiy and emphasized the need to deactivate tensions in the Middle East.

“Pakistan will continue to work closely with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to intensify peace efforts,” he added.

The Saudi ambassador thanked the prime minister for communicating with him immediately after this serious development that could boost the peace and stability of the region.

He agreed that Saudi and Pakistan Arabia must continue working together and coordinate closely to guarantee an early peaceful agreement of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
