On September 1, the Federal Government announced a reduction of RS3 per liter in the price of high speed diesel (HSD), while maintaining the price of gasoline without changes due to another fortnight.
According to an official notification issued by the Finance Division, revised oil prices entered into force at midnight (September 1, 2025) and will remain applicable over the next 15 days.
After the adjustment, the HSD price has been reduced from RS272.99 to RS269.99 per liter. The price of gasoline, however, remains unchanged in RS264.61 per liter.
The changes follow the biweekly government of the government of international oil prices and the movements of the exchange rate.
Other oil products also saw slight reductions. The price of higher querosene oil was reduced by RS1.46, from RS178.27 to RS176.81 per liter.
Similarly, light diesel oil fell into RS2.40, now with a price of RS159.76 of the previous RS162.37 per liter.
The reviewed price is produced in the midst of the global raw reference points, where motor gasoline premiums are currently $ 6.37 per barrel and HSD premiums at $ 3.20 per barrel.
The domestic price also factors in the margin of inner cargo equalization (IFEM) —RS8.05 per liter for gasoline and RS6.20 for Diesel – as well as the Petroleum Levy (PL) and the Climate Support Levy (CSL), components that significantly influence retail fuel costs.
This is the second consecutive fortnight during which the government has maintained the prices of gasoline without changes while reducing the prices of other oil products in up to RS12 per liter.
On August 15, the Federal Government reduced the price of high speed diesel (HSD) at RS12.84 per liter. Similarly, superior querosene oil prices and light diesel oil were also reduced in RS7.19 and RS8.20 per liter, respectively.
