Islamabad:
Pakistan organized on Saturday the Conference of the Regional Heads of Defense Personnel, gathering high -level military leaders of the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzista, Tayikistan and Uzbekistan in what is being cheered as a significant step to strengthen regional security cooperation and military diplomacy.
Organized under the topic “Strengthen ties, ensure peace”, the high profile meeting aimed at strengthening security collaboration, improving joint training initiatives and sharing best practices in contributing and other areas related to defense, according to public relations between services (ISPR).
The army personnel (COAS), the Syed field marshal also welcomed the delegations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability.
“In an era defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, deeper military cooperation, strategic dialogue and mutual trust are imperative. Pakistan remains committed to working with associated nations for a safe and prosperous region,” said the COA.
The participating chiefs maintained detailed discussions about regional security dynamics, anti -terrorism cooperation, strategic trends that evolve in the center and south of Asia, and the humanitarian responses coordinated during crises.
The delegates also expressed a shared resolution to defend peace, respect national sovereignty and face common threats, including terrorism, cyber insecurity and violent extremism.
The participants chose the leadership and hospitality of Pakistan, qualifying the conference as an important step to promote the diplomacy of inclusive and prospective defense.
The event stressed the continuous role of Pakistan as a key player in the configuration of a safe, interconnected and cooperative regional security environment, anchored in mutual interests and regional solidarity.
Development is seen as another sign of Pakistan’s growing profile both on regional and international fronts.
Observers believe that Pakistan seems to be playing their cards well, since he is currently having a commitment to all the great powers and other regional players.
The Army Chief was in Beijing earlier this week, where he celebrated a series of meetings with the maximum Chinese civil and military leadership. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, held a meeting with the Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Friday, highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic success.
The Rubio Secretary appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to seek mediation between the United States and Iran, while praising Islamabad for preserving regional stability.
The Foreign Minister, Dar, said later to the Atlantic Council that Pakistan wanted to play a bridge role between the United States and China. He recalled that Pakistan in the past approached these two powers and was ready to play that role again.
