The 26th anniversary of the martyrdom of the Kargil War hero Havildar Lalak Jan Shaheed, receptor of Nishan-E-Hider, is observed today in all Pakistan.
Havildar Lalak Jan gave his life in July 1999 while bravely defended his position during the Kargil conflict. Despite critical injuries, he rejected evacuation and continued to repel the enemy attacks until he embraced martyrdom.
Public relations between services (ISPR) said that Lalak Jan’s legacy serves as a lasting source of inspiration for the present and future generations of the armed forces of Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Lalak Jan Shaheed, recognizing his courage and disinterest.
The president said that the martyr’s sacrifice remains a brilliant example of determination and will be remembered in golden words in the history of the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that Lalak Jan frusló the enemy’s nefarious designs without taking into account his own life and made the final sacrifice.
He added that Lalak Jan’s courage could not be shaken by enemy aggression.
The prime minister reaffirmed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs and their families are a source of national pride, and the entire nation is firmly with the armed forces.
In a joint message, the head of the Army personnel, Syed also Munir, president of the Joint Committee of Personnel Heads, head of Naval Personnel, Chief of Air Personnel and the Armed Forces paid a sincere tribute to Lalak Jan Shaheed, recognizing his courage, dedication and sacrifice incomparable.
