The president of the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has become president of the Asian Cricket Council after a decision made by the Regional Executive Committee.
The ACC Executive Committee held a virtual session in which the decision was made for the presidency of Pakistan.
Naqvi, who has served as president of the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB) since February 2024, will assume this prestigious role on April 3, said the regional Cricket agency in a statement, and added that his appointment carries out a new leadership chapter for Asian Cricket.
“I feel deeply honored to assume the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council,” Naqvi said.
“Asia is still the worldwide’s beat, and I am committed to working with all the members to accelerate the growth of the game and the global influence.”
“Together, we will unlock new opportunities, we will promote greater collaboration and take the Asian cryket to unprecedented heights. I also extend my sincere thanks to the president of OCS outgoing for his leadership and contributions to the ACC during his mandate.”

The presidents of the ACC are ready in a method based on rotation among member countries.
Naqvi happened to the president of Sri Lanka Crickt (SLC) Shammi Silva. Reflecting on the transition, Silva shared his appreciation for the ACC community: “It has been a privilege to serve as president of the Asian Cricket Council.
“The firm commitment of our members who work together has been fundamental to raise the stature of ACC throughout the region.”
“When I resign, I have full confidence that under the leadership capable of NAQVI, the ACC will continue its remarkable trip and prosper,” Silva concluded.
Naqvi was appointed president of PCB in February last year for a period of three years and, in addition to fulfilling the role of the PCB chief, Naqvi is also the Interior Minister of Pakistan.
It was also learned that Naqvi made decisions to divide his duties with the former Captain of the Pakistan Waqar Youchy Cricket team.
The PCB head will focus on administrative matters within the Board and the veteran pacemaker will act as his advisor at Cricket affairs.
Younis will supervise Crick’s affairs, including problems related to international and national cricket, the selection committee and non -objection certificates (NO) of the players.
The Constitution of the 2014 PCB allows the president of the Board to divide or share their power with another official.
