London: Pakistan’s former military officer, Brigadier (RETD), Rashid Naseer, told the United Kingdom Superior Court that the main intelligence agency of Pakistan, intelligence between services (ISI) and the military have nothing to do with incidents and accusations of kidnappings and torture in Pakistan.
Giving evidence on the second day of judgment as part of his defamation case against the major (retd) Adil Raja, the retired brigadier was interrogated by Raja’s lawyer, lawyer Simon Harding, as well as Naseer’s lawyer, David Lemer.
The attached judge of the Superior Court of London, Richard Spearman KC, commented at the beginning of the trial the second day that will not allow the defamation of the Brigadier case (RETD) Naseer against Adil Raja to become a judgment of the Pakistani policy. The judge commented that the case is the defamation of an individual (retired brigade Naseer) and has nothing to do with the general political situation in Pakistan or the role of the military or the ISI. The judge pushed Raja’s lawyer to admit that Adil Raja had no defense of the truth. Immediately afterwards, Raja withdrew the defense of the truth, which means that he cannot affirm that none of the accusations against rashid nseer are true. The only remaining defense is the public interest.
Answering questions to Raja’s lawyer, claimant Naseer said: “Speaking of myself. I have served in the intelligence service for a long time and I have never been involved in the kidnapping, coercion, harassment and torture of anyone. No one asks to do anything to me. They face the threats in Pakistan for intelligence services.
He continued: “My case is not about silencing government critics, the military or journalists. Adil Raja became a journalist as a cover because you can get yours when you are a journalist. I have experienced a lot of physical and reputational damage. This is my personal effort to clean my name.”
The retired Brigadier said there are three categories of people from the United Kingdom who worried after Adil Raja published the supposedly defamatory material about him.
“My immediate family, like my nephew and my niece who felt threatened. My extended family was worried and many of them, who supported PTI and Imran Khan, thought that these accusations were true. The third category are those that still serve in the intelligence community of the United Kingdom; we serve together in the EAU and Afghanisto. Persuidized by me so that they clarify my name.
“My immediate family was worried, they thought that their security would be committed to London. I had a great relationship with the intelligence professionals of the United Kingdom and worked with them against terrorism; we developed and worked together in operations contrary to terrorism, even in threats to the national security of the United Kingdom and the vice versa. United Kingdom.
“My future plans put themselves in danger. My name and my photos are out and my name is contaminated as a result of these accusations. This has made me feel vulnerable. I have received death threats and my family members of my family has gone through it.
The case is based on nine publications. By deciding the meaning of the publications in April 2024, the deputy judge of the Superior Court Richard Spearman KC had ruled that Brig (retd) Naseer was defamed in the customary law of the United Kingdom when Adil Farooq Raja made the following accusations, without any evidence, in the publications in June 202: (1) Rashid Naser had taken the complete control of the court of the court of the court of the court of the court; (2) Rashid Naseer had supposedly had several meetings with Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the manipulation of the elections; (3) Rashid Naseer will be eliminated at the right time by soldiers who work with covert filtration on the actions and movements of such people; (4) Brigadier Rashid Naseer was working against PTI candidates; (5) Rashid Naseer is part of a meticulously artificial process established by military and intelligence officers to manipulate the elections; (6) Rashid Naseer has been abusing its position, using enormous funds not counted to guarantee the victory of PDM; (7) Rashid Naseer will abuse his position to harass PTI supporters during PTI’s elections; (8) Rashid Naseer has sinned and destroyed its possibilities of the promised life in the hereafter; (9) Rashid Naseer had caused the police to make their tender making an accusation without bribery; (10) Rashid Naseer is directly involved in political interference; (11) Brigadier Rashid Naseer registered a complaint against Adil Raja to defame it; (12) Rashid Naseer arrested Adil Raja’s brother -in -law; and (13) played an outstanding role in the change of regime.
Brig (retd) Naseer denies all these accusations. Adil Raja has been living in the United Kingdom since April 2022.
