Pakistan has prevented all ships with an Indian flag from entering their ports and territorial waters, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs said on Sunday that the tensions between the neighbors with nuclear weapons increase after India imposed a similar prohibition one day before. The measure is produced in direct response to New Delhi’s previous decision to prohibit Pakistani ships from accessing any Indian port.
The Maritime Ministry of Pakistan cited regional tensions and national security concerns such as justification behind its countermelted. He added that “any exemption request would be reviewed individually.”
Tit -for-OT restrictions mark a new minimum in commercial ties between the two countries, which have seen that commercial exchanges decrease abruptly in recent years amid repeated diplomatic rows. Analysts say that reciprocal prohibitions could interrupt regional routes of shipping and trade, isolating both countries economically.
