Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicate terrorism, saying that the country has adopted a multiple strategy to eliminate the threat of its roots.
By chairing a review meeting of the Steering Committee against Terrorism in Islamabad on Thursday, Sharif said: “The state of Pakistan undertakes to eliminate the scourge of terrorism in its roots, and the world recognizes the successful operations of Pakistan against terrorists.”
He stressed that Pakistan’s anti -terrorism strategy includes land operations, legal reforms, public participation and counteract extremist ideologies. He addressed the Committee to guarantee strong coordination between federal and provincial authorities and the strict implementation of recommendations.
The prime minister also praised the armed forces of Pakistan for his role in main operations such as Zarb-E-Aazb, Radd-Ul-Fasaad and the recently concluded Marka-E-HAQ, which he described as a “historical battle” worldwide as an important success.
“The whole nation, including the families of the officers and the staff who sacrificed their lives for the homeland, is proud of their courage and disinterest,” he said.
Sharif recognized the contributions of provincial governments, the Intelligence Office, the Ministry of Interior and the departments against terrorism, particularly the Punjab CTD, in the fight against terrorism.
He said that Pakistan is implementing a comprehensive strategy to dismantle antisocial elements, including “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Khawarij”.

When addressing economic security, the prime minister said that the coordinated efforts of the relevant institutions had significantly braking smuggling, which has positively impacted the national economy.
