Pakistan Railways has introduced a new ticket reimbursement policy, which will also apply to tickets bought through the “Raabta” application, “said Express News.
According to the notification issued by Pakistan Railways, passengers who buy tickets from the point of sale of the railroad (POS) can receive a refund of up to 90% if they are canceled 48 hours before the train departure.
If it is canceled 24-48 hours before the exit, 80% of the amount will be reimbursed, and if it is canceled within 24 hours after departure, 70% will be reimbursed.
Passengers can also obtain a 50% refund within 2 hours after the train departure. If the train is delayed in 6 hours or more, a complete refund will be provided.
Reimbursements for post tickets will only be available in the respective counters where tickets were bought.
To claim reimbursement, passengers must send the original ticket and a copy of their identification card, after which they will receive the slip and cancellation reimbursement.
For online tickets, refunds can only be processed through the same online service used for payment.
The same refund policy also applies to online tickets. Refund will not be issued after the train departure, but if the cancellation occurs less than 90 minutes before the exit, a 50%refund will be granted.
