The Federal Government has announced a significant discount on trains of trains during the three days of Eidul Azha, as part of its efforts to facilitate trips during the festive season, Express News reported.
The Railroad Minister Hanif Abbasi confirmed the development at a media conference on Monday, stating that five special trains would be operated for Eidul Azha.
“Special trains will be operational during the duration of vacations to relieve the transport of people traveling to their cities of origin for the occasion,” he said. He also assured that the agreements made with the media would be completely honored.
Highlighting the achievements of the Railroads of Pakistan, Abbasi mentioned that the department had achieved significant milestones in its 77 years of history, particularly in the last 11 months. “Pakistan Railways’s performance has been outstanding,” he added.
In addition, Abbasi revealed that Pakistan Railways was generating income through his leased properties. “In line with the vision of the prime minister, Royal Palm will subcontract, with transparency in the bidding process, and the offers will open in full public opinion,” said the minister.
Abbasi also announced a budget allocation of RS1 billion for the eight rail hospitals. He said that efforts were being made to outsource these hospitals, but promised that medical services for railway employees would remain free.
