UNITED NATIONS:
Pakistan reaffirmed his historical solidarity with the Palestinian people and reiterated support for the establishment of an independent, viable and contiguous Palestinian state, based on the borders prior to 1967 with Al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital, according to the resolutions of UN and OIC relevant.
The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Minister of Foreign Affairs (FM) ISHAQ Dar represented Pakistan at the High Level International Conference on the Pacific Settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the solution of two states, co -presided by the Saudi Arabia and France.
The conference obtained a particular meaning as several countries, including France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Portugal, announced their recognition of the state of Palestine, reinforcing the global consensus on the right of Palestinian people to self -determination and status.
Welcome to these ads, the DPM urged all countries that have not yet recognized Palestine to take similar measures in accordance with international law. He stressed that Pakistan has constantly supported the cause of Palestine, since it was one of the first countries to recognize the state of Palestine in 1988.
Pakistan also supported the conference results document, the New York Declaration, reaffirming its commitment to a fair and lasting peace. Giving emphasized that the statement must be followed by concrete international actions to end decades of conflict and achieve stability in the Middle East.
Separately, Pakistan reaffirmed his commitment to strengthen the role of the Commonwealth in the address of global challenges and advance collective prosperity.
The DPM went to the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth (CFAMM).
Welcoming the Secretary General to his first CFAMM since he assumed the position in April 2025, he praised his efforts to accelerate the implementation of the results of Chogm-2024 and boost the reforms forward to revitalize the organization.
He highlighted the importance of the forum as a platform for dialogue, the construction of peace and cooperation in the face of overall global crises such as conflicts, climate change, economic vulnerabilities and disruptive technologies.
Meanwhile, Dar also requested a strengthened association between the OIC and the UN to advance a culture of peace and tolerance.
He caught the attention to the contemporary challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, including conflicts in Palestine and Kashmir.
The FM also met with the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamda Albudaiwi, apart from the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
