Pakistan reaffirms the support of China’s territorial integrity in Zangnan

Pakistan has reiterated his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China, after Beijing’s reaffirmation of his position in Zanggnan, also known as Arunachal Pradesh.

During a weekly press conference on Friday, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, declared that Pakistan “fully supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the People’s Republic of China”, and had indicated recent reports on China’s position in the region.

The statement occurs in the midst of renewed tensions between India and China on the territory in dispute, which Beijing refers as Zangnan.

Khan also dismissed the reports of the Indian media that allege nuclear radiation linked to recent border tensions such as “without foundation and unfounded.”

He pointed out that the General Directors of Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan and India had remained in contact since May 10, emphasizing the importance of continuous dialogue.

When commenting on broader regional developments, Khan criticized what he described as the “aggressive position” of India, accusing New Delhi of destabilizing the regional security environment.

He said that the military operations of Pakistan, carried out under operation Bunyan-Un-Marsososoos, were an answer to cross-border aggression and were carried out in self-defense, invoking article 51 of the UN Charter.

“Our response was in line with our right to self -defense and aimed at preserving national sovereignty,” Khan said.

He welcomed the recent high fire agreement between the two parties and urged India to maintain his commitments. “We see this as a positive step and we hope that India implements the high fire both in letter and spirit,” he added.

The provincial authorities in Punjab also marked what they called a significant achievement under the Bunyan-Un-Marshals operation with tributes and commemorative events.
