Pakistan reiterates that they ask for dialogue with India to solve pending problems


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addresses Pakistan-Turkiye

BAKU: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated on Wednesday the call of Pakistan for dialogue with India to guarantee lasting peace in the region, saying that they need to sit on the table and address pressing challenges, including cashmere, water and terrorism.

“We must sit together and speak for the sake of peace … There are problems that demand immediate attention and must be addressed through dialogue,” the prime minister said when heading to Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit together with the presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev.

The meeting occurs when the prime minister continued his tour of four nations to express his gratitude to support Pakistan during the recent conflict against India.

Previously, the prime minister concluded his two -day bilateral visit to Iran and left for Azerbaijan. After his visits to Turkiye, Iran and Azerbaijan, he will proceed to Tayikistan.

When addressing the summit, he stressed Pakistan’s continuous position on regional peace, saying: “We want peace yesterday, we want peace today and we will continue to wish peace in the future.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz said that Pakistan seeks a resolution to the problem of Kashmir in line with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the aspirations of the People of Cookmira. He added that Pakistan is also open to conversations with India about contractorism, if New Delhi demonstrates seriousness.

The prime minister referred to the recent aggression of India and said that with the infinite blessings and kindness of Allah Almighty, with the support of the people of Pakistan and the friendly countries, and a resolved response of the armed forces, they came out victorious.

He pointed out that unfortunately India tried to arm the Treaty of the Water of the Indo, which was a lifeguard for the population of 240 million Pakistan who used water for agriculture, drink and other ends.

“It is unfortunate that India has tried to threaten to stop the flow of water in Pakistan. This is not possible, this is never possible and will not be possible. We are making the right arrangements to ensure that India never does,” he kept emphatically.

“We are the greatest victim of terrorism worldwide and we lost 90,000 valuable lives and suffer economic losses worth $ 150 billion in recent decades. There can be no greater demonstration of our commitment and intention to overcome this threat to all time,” he added.

If India showed serious and honest cooperation, he said that Pakistan would be willing to discuss all the issues, including the promotion of trade with India, at the negotiating table.

The prime minister also appreciated the role of the Syed field marshal also Munir, who, according to him, directed Pakistan’s armed forces to fight with great courage and the highest level of professional insight, while the entire nation was behind them.

The prime minister said that during the conflict with India, he found the field marshal as “fearful, intrepid, firm with iron resolution, patience and strength to face that aggression.”

He reiterated that during the recent conflict, India could not present any credible evidence against Pakistan and rejected his sincere offer for a neutral and transparent investigation on the so -called Pahalagam incident by any international organism.

The prime minister said that during his anterior trilateral format, the three countries maintained very fruitful discussions on the issues of mutual interests and hoped that his session in Lachin City would take their cooperation to new heights, consonance with the wishes and desires of the people of three countries.

He said it would not be a surprise for anyone who Pakistan, Turkiye and Azerbaijan were united with historical, cultural and spiritual ties that cover the centuries.

This historical friendship was strengthened over time and joined together if they were the problems of Nagorno-Karabakh, Northern Cyprus and Kashmira, he said.

He said it was natural for his people to be linked with love and passion, supporting his common goals. Its people had provided their support for the effusion of love and affection.

He also stressed that today, the world faced numerous serious challenges, including armed conflicts, diseases, climate change and economic crises and had gathered there opting for compassion while rejected conflicts. They trusted that passion and wisdom would finally mark peace and prosperity, he added.

‘$ 2 billion of investment’

The president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in his comments, said that the three countries were united based on their common and shared history, culture and religion.

Turkiye and Pakistan extended moral support to them for what they were grateful for them, said and highlighted the importance of solidarity and the unity for the development of their nations by taking advantage of resources to achieve their shared objectives.

He said that Azerbaijan wanted to advance his cooperation through joint companies and foresees an investment of $ 2 billion in Pakistan’s economy with specific development projects.

President Aliyev further emphasized joint cooperation on AI, space exploration, academic collaboration, cultural events and tourist links to improve ties between their people.

He said that the tensions between Pakistan and India worried them more and expressed solidarity with Pakistan, and added that through dialogue and negotiations under the UN letter, it was a way of advancing.

‘Mutual trust’

Turkiye president Erdogan, in his speech, congratulated Azerbaijan on Independence Day and said that the three fraternal countries were linked to mutual confidence and trust.

Their ties were strengthened and struggled to translate their trilateral relationship to strategic cooperation, he added.

I expected the region to become the focus of peace, stability and prosperity.

Referring to the recent visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Istanbul, President Erdogan said they discussed the scope of the high -level strategic council and historical ties.

He congratulated the prime minister for the prudent and wise approach during the conflict with India and said that the high fire had finished tensions between the two countries. He reiterated Turkiye’s contribution to ensure permanent peace.

President Erdogan further stressed the different challenges that face the world that range from security threats to economic crisis and stressed joint projects and cooperation between the three countries in commercial facilitation, investment promotion and digital training.

Trilateral Summit

The prime minister arrived in Lachin, Azerbaijan, a day before to attend the Trilateral Summit of Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan, the third stop on a five-day tour destined to extend gratitude to the friendly nations for supporting Pakistan during the recent military conflict with India.

Prime Minister Shehbaz held a meeting with the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in which both leaders emphasized the coordinated efforts to improve regional stability, mutual prosperity and maintain positions of principles in key international issues.

The prime minister transmitted warm happy to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this important national occasion, emphasizing that the people of both countries enjoyed an eternal bond of friendship.

The prime minister thanked Azerbaijan for his unwavering support during the recent confrontation with India, caused by New Delhi missile attacks on Pakistan, and praised the public sample of solidarity of his leadership and people.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the complete spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed their satisfaction on the ascending trajectory of political, economic, defense and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
