The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has issued an answer regarding the suspension of American aid to Pakistan.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, addressed the issue during a weekly informative session, stating that the government is currently reviewing the recent orders of the president of the United States and is in communication with US officials about the situation of aid .

Khan emphasized that the United States and Pakistan have collaborated in several programs in different sectors for years, and Pakistan remains committed to the United States in a matter of assistance.

He also expressed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen economic relations with the United States.

Regarding the relations between the United States and India, Khan refrained from commenting, stating that Pakistan’s relations with the United States are solid. He also clarified that the freezing of the help of the United States is applied to all countries for 90 days, and cooperation continues in several sectors, even through American assistance to Pakistan.

The spokesman also pointed out that American businessmen regularly visit Pakistan and that such visits are not coordinated through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but are part of regular commercial activities.

In addition, Khan discussed the next naval exercises scheduled from February 7 to 12, 2025, in which 60 countries will participate, aimed at promoting peace and cooperation.

Khan provided updates on the return of 22 national Pakistani from Morocco, after a tragic boat incident. He assured that measures are being taken for safe performance, although no more details about the incident were revealed due to their sensitivity.

In addition, Pakistan condemned attacks on Saudi hospitals in Sweden and Israeli aggression in the West Bank. He also announced a bilateral political consultation meeting between Pakistan and Doha on February 5, 2025, led by the Vice Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Finally, Khan highlighted the presence of 770 Pakistani prisoners in Indian prisons and reiterated Pakistan’s concerns about US weapons that are used in terrorism within Pakistan, specifically from Afghanistan, emphasizing that Pakistan has repeatedly raised this problem in several forums.
