Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized on Sunday the need for agricultural self -sufficiency, asking for the modernization of the sector through the combined efforts of qualified professionals and youth commitment.
By chairing a high -level advisory meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister said that Pakistan’s fertile land, experienced agriculture experts and working farmers provide a solid basis for sector reform.
He stressed that the entry of interested parties will be incorporated into a coordinated strategy to improve productivity and sustainability.
Shehbaz highlighted the importance of promoting artisanal industries based on agriculture, small and medium enterprises (SME) and adequate storage infrastructure to strengthen rural economies.
He pointed out the current lack of out -of -season crops and small -scale value plants, suggesting that their development could stimulate entrepreneurship among rural youth and increase exports.
Meeting participants identified key areas for reform, including the adoption of digital tools and artificial intelligence.
The proposals included the expansion of smartphones and Internet access in rural areas, the creation of a centralized database of farmers and implement blockchain systems and QR code to improve the delivery of agricultural inputs.
The discussion also covered the improvement of soil fertility, the promotion of nutrient-rich crops through scientific methods and the launch of training initiatives through public-private associations.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to involve young people, prioritize research and development and move towards national self -sufficiency in agriculture through collaborative actions.
PM invites friendly countries to invest in Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited friendly countries to invest in Pakistan mines and minerals, information technology and agricultural sectors.
When addressing the health, engineering and mineral show in Lahore, he said he extend complete facilitation to investors. He stressed that these sectors offer views of opportunities for profitable investments.
Referring to the reduction of inflation and policies rates, as well as electric tariffs, the prime minister said this has created an environment conducive to investment in Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is marching to growth and prosperity. He said that our country has a young population and are being equipped with modern techniques and vocational training.
He said that Allah Almighty has granted Pakistan very valuable natural resources, emphasizing the need for joint companies in the field of mines and minerals.
