Pakistan sends 300 agricultural graduates to China under the training initiative of the Prime Minister

The first group of 300 agricultural graduates will depart to China on April 16 as part of an international training program by the Government aimed at modernizing the Pakistan agricultural sector, the Ministry of Security and National Food Research in a statement said on Monday.

The initiative, entitled the initiative of the Prime Minister for the development of capacities of 1,000 agricultural graduates in China, seeks to equip young professionals with avant -garde skills in agricultural technology, biotechnology and sustainable agricultural practices.

“Through collaboration with the main Chinese universities and research institutes, the program offers specialized training in nine high priority areas, including agricultural mechanization, biotechnology, genomics, precision agriculture, artificial intelligence and high efficiency irrigation systems,” said the ministry.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister of National Food Security, Frog Tanveer Hussain, are scheduled to attend a shipping ceremony on April 15 for the starting lot.

The training program, which will cover between three and six months, is fully financed by the Pakistani government. The graduates were selected through a competitive process based on merit, with locations aligned with their academic specializations.

According to the Ministry, participants are expected to return as “master trainers” who will play a fundamental role in the transfer of knowledge and modern techniques to local agricultural communities, universities and research institutions.

The Government had previously announced plans to send a total of 1,000 agricultural graduates to China in 2025 under this capacity to build capacity. The authorities say that the initiative reflects Islamabad’s commitment to transform agriculture into a high -tech and sustainable sector that can face food security challenges and boost economic growth.
