The Super League of Pakistan hopes to expand from six to eight teams after the 2025 season, said the CEO of PSL, Salman Naseer.
Organized for the first time in 2016 in the United Arab Emirates due to security concerns, the PSL is now housed in Pakistan, where it aims to strengthen its commercial attraction and competitiveness.
The planned expansion occurs in a key commercial situation for the PSL, with the media and sponsorship rights that rise for sale.
PSL 2026 will also adopt new cities with PESHAWAR to organize its first exhibition game, a step towards the complete matches of PSL. The trophy will also embark on its first national tour, taking the event to non -host cities.
“At the end of this year, we could get two more teams,” Naseer told local media on Thursday.
“We started at a time when no Crick was happening in Pakistan. The challenge was to bring him back.
“Now that we have successfully brought to Crickt the traditional centers, the next step is to expand beyond these four cities (Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and fine).”
The January-February Window of the PSL now faces the competition of SA20 of South Africa and the International League of the EAU T20, with its value depending on the postseason data as the rights rise for sale.
“This year will be an interesting test, and with more teams, we anticipate a larger window,” Naseer added.
“Some of our rights are value for valuation after this PSL. Many will depend on the data we collect.”
The 2025 edition will begin on April 11. Islamabad United headlines are the most successful PSL team with three titles.
