Pakistan taught India ‘a lesson to remember from life’: PM Shehbaz


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that Pakistan had taught India a “lesson that he will remember for life” during Marka-E-Haq, while he was heading to Pakistani journalists based in the United Kingdom in London.

Marka-E-HAQ refers to Pakistan’s military operation, officially called the Bunyanum Marsoos operation, launched in May 2025 in response to Indian aggression. He concluded with what was described as a “decisive victory for Pakistan”, since the armed forces repelled the adversaries with discipline and strategic clarity.

The Government acclaimed him as a “magnificent success” and then declared on May 10 to be observed annually as Yom-E-Marka-E-HAQ to honor the performance and sacrifices of the Armed Forces during the conflict.

According to state station Radio Pakistan, the prime minister spoke about Pakistan’s defense cooperation with Saudi Arabia, clarifying that the pact “was not against anyone” but a reflection of decades of confidence between the two nations.

According to the agreement, he said, an “attack against one country would be treated as one attack against the other”, and both responded through mutual consultations.

The prime minister stressed a close civil-military coordination, pointing out that regularly consult the head of the Army personnel (COA), also Munir, on all matters of national interest, including foreign policy.

Shehbaz described his recent meeting with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, in Washington, DC, as “highly productive and constructive,” added that Trump had assured him to advance in bilateral economic cooperation.

In the economic front, he said that Pakistan had achieved macroeconomic stability and was pressing for growth despite the devastation caused by recent floods.

He cited the government’s efforts aimed at the relief of poverty, reducing unemployment, attracting investments and taking advantage of the potential in agriculture, information technology and minerals. “Friendly countries are ready to extend full support to Pakistan to take advantage of their natural resources,” he added.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminate terrorism, emphasizing that the sacrifices of the country’s security forces would always be remembered. He also said that he had raised the difficult situation of the town of Kashmir and Palestinians in the United Nations (UN).

Just before talking to the Pakistani abroad in the high commission of Pakistan in London, the prime minister said that his government’s achievements were the result of “sincerity, hard work and team effort.”

He stressed that the government was now focused on maintaining growth, attracting investments, reducing unemployment and taking advantage of key sectors such as agriculture, information technology and minerals.

He also highlighted his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), saying that he had elevated the voices of the town of Cashmir and Palestinians on the world stage. He added that the suffering in Gaza represented oppression and brutality “never seen in the world before”, but expressed the hope that the Summit of Arab-Islamic leaders chaired by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, produced encouraging results.
