The Pakistan ambassador to the United Nations, Equifikhar Ahmad, warned that India’s actions represent “serious threats” for peace and stability in southern Asia, during an informative session to the Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) group of ambassadors in New York.

In a statement issued by Pakistan’s mission to the UN, Ambassador Ahmad described India’s behavior as “highly provocative, motivated politically and irresponsible.” He underlined the seriousness of the regional situation, urging member states to take note of the position of India and its implications for long -term peace.

The organization of Islamic Cooperation Envoos (OIC) expressed unanimous support and solidarity with Pakistan, reiterating its commitment to the principles of peace and justice.

The envoys emphasized the need for de-escalation through diplomatic means, asking for a renewed approach in solving the central problems in the heart of India-Pakistan tensions, particularly the long data dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.

They reaffirmed the importance of addressing the problem according to the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and OIC decisions, advocating a fair and lasting agreement.

The meeting was part of the continuous diplomatic reach of Pakistan to highlight what he considers a deteriorated security environment in the region due to the actions of India.
