Pakistan has decided to update his argue d’Affires in Kabul to the ambassador rank, announced the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq in X, Radio Pakistan reported Friday.

He expressed the confidence that the update would improve the commitment and deepen the cooperation of Pakistan-Fanistan in the economic, security, antiterrorism and commercial sectors. In addition, it is expected to promote more exchanges between the two fraternal countries.

By announcing the decision to improve diplomatic representation, GIV said that bilateral relations had been in a positive trajectory since Kabul visited with a paquistani delegation last month. “I am sure that this step would contribute even more to an improved commitment,” he said in X.

China, who organized an informal meeting last week between the government and the Afghan Taliban administration, later said that the two countries planned to improve their diplomatic ties.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have had a tense relationship since the Taliban administration took power after the withdrawal of NATO forces led by the United States.

Islamabad says that Islamist militants who launch attacks inside Pakistan use Afghan soil. Kabul denies this, saying that such militancy is Pakistan’s domestic problem.

No country has formally recognized the Taliban administration since it took power, and foreign powers requested that the course of women’s rights change. Pakistan becomes the fourth country after China, EAU and Uzbekistan to designate an ambassador to Kabul.

Although these governments say they have not formally recognized the Taliban government, diplomats and experts say that having an ambassador officially presents their credentials represents a step towards recognition.
