Pakistan and Turkiye reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral cooperation and strategic ties, since the leadership of both countries jointly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and expressed firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran under international law, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.
The commitment was reiterated during a key meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, held in Estanbul apart from the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers. The field marshal of General Syed also Munir, also participated in the meeting, reflecting the strategic nature of the bilateral relationship.
During the conversations, the two parties strongly condemned Israel’s continuous aggression in Gaza, qualifying a shameless violation of international law and humanitarian norms. They underwent the urgent need to stop the Israeli military campaign and guarantee uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged Palestinian population.

The leaders also expressed full support for the sovereignty of Iran, territorial integrity and their right to self -defense under the Charter of the United Nations. They agreed to look for diplomatic paths to discourage growing tensions in the region and asked the international community to play their role in the restoration of peace and stability.
Giving transmitted the warm greetings of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to President Erdogan and reaffirmed the deep appreciation of Pakistan for his lasting relationship with Turkiye, rooted in shared values, history and mutual trust.
The Deputy Prime Minister also congratulated President Erdogan for the successful organization of the Summit of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkiye and the Leadership Award conferred by the Youth Forum of Islamic Cooperation, recognizing his role in the progress of the collective interests of the Muslim world.
The presence of the field marshal also at the meeting stressed the integral and strategic dimension of the ties of Pakistan-Turkiye, which covers diplomatic and defense cooperation.
