Pakistan urges the UN action in Kashmir

Pakistan emphasized on Monday the need to resolve conflicts in Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) and India Kashmir by allowing its peoples to exercise the right not promised to self -determination.

“The principles of self -determination and the non -acquisition of the territory through the use or threat of force are fundamental to maintaining world order,” said Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, during a special meeting of ambassadors of the ambassadors of the OIC at the UN.

“Respect for these principles is essential to achieve only solutions for Palestine and the Jammu and Kashmir Global and multilateralism.

He also declared that in both conflicts, the implementation of these principles is crucial to end the foreign occupation and guarantee freedom.

At first, give reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Pakistan to advance in the common OIC objectives in the UN.

He specifically expressed that Pakistan would continue to advocate for a fair and lasting peace in Palestine, asking for a permanent fire in Gaza, humanitarian assistance without obstacles and a firm opposition to any effort destined to displace the Palestinian people.

Giving reiterated the total support of Pakistan for the solution of two states, imagining a viable and sovereign state of Palestine based on the borders prior to 1967, with al-Quds al-Sharif as its capital.

The DPM also reaffirmed the firm support of Pakistan for the fair fight of the People of Cashmir People of Kashmir.

In addition, Dar expressed concern about Israeli threats informed of making more attacks against Iran, emphasizing that such actions would represent a severe threat to regional and international peace and security.

“Despite the hostile rhetoric, we hope that all parties seek to relive the JCPOA (Iran Nuclear Agreement) in equitable terms. This should contribute significantly to achieve lasting peace and security in the Middle East, ”he added.

The FM reaffirmed the support of Pakistan to the peaceful resolution of conflicts that affect Muslim countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, according to the principles of the UN Charter.

He also emphasized the urgent need to combat Islamophobia and requested the rapid appointment of a UN special envoy, in line with the collective efforts of the ICO to counteract this growing worldwide trend.

Dar concluded by underlining Pakistan’s strong commitment to work closely with the OIC Member States during his mandate of the Security Council on all issues of mutual interest.
