Colombo: Pakistan and India will meet today in a highly anticipated match of the Cricket World Cup Women’s Cricket ICC at the Runa R Stadium in Colombo de Sri Lanka.

Pakistan suffered a massive defeat against Bangladesh in his first tournament meeting, while India managed to defeat Sri Lanka in the first match of the Women’s Crick World Cup.

The party is likely to be affected by the rain, with forecasts that predict intermittent showers throughout the day. The rain is expected before the game begins and can continue with different intensities during the game.

Colombo has already seen strong rains recently, and yesterday’s game between Sri Lanka and Australia was suspended due to persistent showers.

Statistics show that Pakistan has never defeated India in the female hate, with the two teams compared to another 11 times, where India has come victorious on all occasions.

The tournament will take place from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will play all their games in the group stage in the Remadase International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

If Pakistan advances to the semifinal on October 29 and the final on November 2, both matches will also take place in Colombo.

‘Without hands tightening’

Previously, the secretary of the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) Devajit Saikia said that the Pakistan policy will remain unchanged in its next clash in the Women’s World Cup of the CPI 2025.

In an interview with BBCBCCI’s secretary declared that there was no guarantee that Indian players will shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts during their next game in Colombo on October 5.

“I can’t predict anything, but our relationship with that country [Pakistan] It is the same; There are no changes in the last week, “Saikia said.

“India will play that game against Pakistan in Colombo, and all Crickt protocols will be followed. I can only assure what it is in the MCC [Marylebone Cricket Club] Cricket regulations, which will be carried out.

“If there will be handshakes, if there will be hugs, I cannot assure you anything at this time,” he added.

His comments come in the context of the controversial and widely condemned behavior of India during the recently completed Cup of Asia 2025, where the male team refused to shake the hand of Pakistan’s players and made political statements during the ceremonies and press conferences after the match.

India also refused to collect the trophy of the winners of the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as president of the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB).

‘Focus only on the game’

When heading to a presuator prior to the match on Saturday, the Captain of Women’s Cricket from Pakistan, Healthy Fatima, said his team focuses solely on the game.

However, Fatima was still asked to share if she would miss the spirit and camaraderie between the two teams, referring to her interactions outside the field after her match in the 2022 edition of the Mega event, when the Indian players surrounded the captain of Pakistan Bismah Marof and cooked about her six -month daughter.

Fatima, who was part of the national team, in response, reiterated Pakistan’s position to fulfill the spirit, but emphasized that his main objective is “staying focused” on the game.

“Our main objective is to play well. Our relationship with the other teams is good. We will try to fulfill the spirit of the game,” said Fatima.

“What happened before, as with Bismá’s daughter, when everyone mixed and enjoyed together, as players, we all like those moments. But the main thing is to stay focused on what we have come here,” he added.

The captain of Pakistan also ruled out the notion of probabilities against them, since they follow India 11-0 in his record in the head in the female hate and, on the other hand, he emphasized that his team has the potential to win to any superior side, stating that the records are destined to break.
