The body of a 23 -year -old Pakistani man who died while undergoing cancer treatment in India arrived in Karachi after a delay caused by an airline error, authorities said.

Aryan Shah, resident of Quetta, had been receiving treatment for several months in Chennai before death last week, according to local media reports.

He had traveled to India with his parents to obtain medical attention.

After his death, Shah’s mother appealed to Baluchistan’s prime minister, Sarfraz Bugti, to get help, since the family could not pay the repatriation costs.

Bugti organized financial support and coordinated with the Pakistani embassy in India to facilitate the process.

Shah’s parents traveled to Karachi with the coffin through an international airline.

However, upon arrival, they learned that the body had been left by mistake in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

“I have received the body of my son of Colombo,” Shah’s mother told journalists.

“The Government or the Indian hospital did not extend any help to change my son’s body.”

The Pakistani authorities contacted the airline, which arranged Karachi’s body to fly. The coffin arrived on Wednesday.

Quetta authorities confirmed that the family transports the body to Quetta in ambulance. They left Karachi on Wednesday night and is expected to arrive at dawn on Thursday morning.
